Parents Timeshare Purchase Hampered Their Children’s Future

When former clients of ours, Abby and Anthony, were first approached with a timeshare proposition they thought it sounded like a worthwhile idea. This feeling did not last for very long though, as it became a troublesome factor for their family finances and refused to go away.

The following is a written account from the family that experienced this timeshare nightmare, and we hope their story will shed a light on the deceitful activity that takes place in this industry all too often. Names of people and places have been changed or redacted for privacy reasons.

“It sounded like a great deal at first, being able to vacation anytime and anywhere we wanted. But once it came to actually put it to use, it proved to be much more difficult than we ever expected. It seemed impossible to book a vacation there. We owned it for over a decade but were only ever able to use it two times.”

Abby and Anthony attended a timeshare presentation where they were first pampered and given gifts just for showing up. Then things took a turn, as they were pressured to complete the sale that was put in front of them. These presentations can be a rollercoaster of emotions and leave you in a disadvantaged state for the salespeople to capitalize on.

“We were able to pay the full price upfront so we didn’t have to take on a mortgage, but the representatives left us completely unaware of the maintenance fees. We had to pay these fees every year we owned the timeshare, and what made it even worse is the price went up every time. They were expensive and caused us to fall behind on our son’s school tuition payments.”

It was already bad enough that they were paying such high costs for something they could rarely use. When it began affecting their family’s lives in other ways such as school, is when it crossed the line for Abby and Anthony.

“We later found out that our timeshare would be transferred to our children if anything ever happened to the both of us, whether we wanted it to or not. This really scared us because that meant the responsibility of paying the maintenance fees every year would fall onto our son’s shoulders. What kind of parent would want to leave their children in debt indefinitely.”

That’s right. If you’re an owner and pass away, the timeshare company may come knocking at the door of your most loved ones asking for their payment when it’s due.

“That’s when we began aggressively looking for a way out of our timeshare. The resort company was not any help, but after doing our own research, we came across Wesley Financial Group, LLC. Their founder’s story really spoke to us and we felt like we could trust them.”

Abby and Anthony contacted us seeking assistance in canceling their timeshare agreement. They came to the right place because that’s our specialty. After qualifying for our services, our cancellation experts helped walk them through the full process until they were completely timeshare-free.* They are now much happier with full control back over their vacations and no longer having to stress about the future.

If you know anyone with a similar timeshare experience, please feel free to pass our phone number along to them. We’d love to see if they qualify for our timeshare termination services.
