Lauren was hopeful to make vacations a healthy habit for her and her family. But when she was tricked into signing up for a timeshare, she soon realized that her dreams of fantasy vacations were halted by rising maintenance costs and limited availability.

Below includes a few excerpts of the timeshare ordeal that Lauren experienced. We hope her written account will enlighten some of the tactics that the timeshare industry often uses on good, unsuspecting people. Names of people have been changed and/or redacted for privacy reasons.

โ€œBefore our first ever timeshare meeting, we were told about how we could get a free night if we just attended a presentation. We didnโ€™t know just how much time and money that meeting would cost us. They kept highlighting how important traveling is, especially for those that are retired. They painted it to be a joyful and glamorous type of vacation, but they didn’t explain the limited time to vacation and the different stipulations. In reality, it was more complicated than enjoyable than we thought [sic].โ€

In Laurenโ€™s story, the timeshare sales team played the waiting game. Since she and her husband werenโ€™t easily convinced, the staff decided to keep them present as long as possible so theyโ€™d finally give into the pressure in the end.

โ€œThey had a sales representative that was really good and kind of convinced us to sign up after several hours of being there. It was mentioned that we could pass it on in a will, but my husband didn’t have a will and I will not pass it on. Mainly because my kids don’t want to have the timeshare either. They used high pressure tactics and definitely gave us false hope as to what our vacations would look like.โ€

It wasnโ€™t long before Lauren and her husband started to examine their options for getting out of their timeshare agreement. Thatโ€™s when they stumbled across the legitimate timeshare termination team at Wesley Financial Group, LLC.

โ€œWe just kept thinking about how wonderful it would be not to have this expense every year. We can save tons of money, especially since it goes up every year. After contacting Wesley we realized this dream could become a reality.โ€

We are proud to announce that after Lauren and her husband reached out to us, our team was able to successfully terminate her timeshare agreement.* She can now enjoy vacations with her family without the burden of a timeshare weighing over her finances.
