Bryson B. Felt Cornered Into Upgrading His Timeshare For More Points

After serving over 20 years in the U.S. Navy, Bryson figured a timeshare was a great way to vacation during his retirement. What he didn’t realize was that he would overpay for the ability to use his unit once or twice a year.

“It all started in the very first meeting. They offered the world. They showed us slides of the most beautiful resorts in the world. Then they tried to get us hooked by convincing us that we’ll be spending less money than we would if we did a vacation on our own. They also pointed out that we can pass the timeshare down to a loved one when we pass away. They said all of this while treating us to a three-day stay at one of their fancy resorts. The staff even offered us a food voucher and tickets to a show to sweeten the deal.”

When looking back at his sales proceeding, Bryson remembers quite a few lies that have stuck with him. He even remembers a particular sales representative being rather assertive with him. 

“They did not mention losing the points if you don’t use them or pay to transfer them to the following year. They made us believe that we owned something when we really didn’t. All your doing is renting a room at their resorts and paying a very high price for accommodations. They also said that it was easy to book our stays but it wasn’t. Then they invited us to stay again with them to try and convince us to upgrade and spend more money on them. After we declined, they came back in a very aggressive manner and we caved to the pressure.”
