Anthony’s Timeshare Maintenance Fees Have Been Increasing Since The ‘90s

Anthony S. told the timeshare salespeople countless times that he was not interested, but it seemed to do nothing as they kept persisting. Surprisingly, this is common within the timeshare industry. Timeshare salespeople are notorious for not taking “no” for an answer and Anthony was a witness to this firsthand. He felt trapped in a room with these salespeople and thought the only way to get out was by agreeing to buy a timeshare

He tried to make the most out of the situation and thought the timeshare could be of use. Unfortunately, there was still so much about timeshares that he did not know. Now, Anthony is sharing his story with all of us. Below are written excerpts directly from him that illustrate the dark side of the timeshare industry. Names of companies and people have been changed or omitted due to privacy concerns.

“I was first approached by timeshare representatives when I was traveling and they came up to me at the airport. They offered the opportunity to get a free $100 gift card, and all I had to do was listen to their short presentation. They assured me it would only last 90 minutes and there would be no obligation to buy. Well, everything they assured me ended up being a lie.”

If they have to bribe you with money and gifts to get you to listen to their presentation, then it’s probably some set-up. Nobody ever wakes up wanting to go buy a new timeshare, instead, unsuspecting people are intensely pressured and badgered into buying them.

“I talked to many different salespeople. I would decline an offer and then another salesman would come in and reduce the price. This ended up going on for a couple of hours, and I was becoming exhausted from the whole encounter. Near the end, they just kept going on and on about how great of an investment it was and said I would be stupid to say no again. I finally gave in to the purchase, because it seemed like the only way I was going to get out of there.”

Timeshare salespeople have a reputation for lying straight through their teeth. They have been known to say any and everything to get a sale. That’s exactly what they did here to Anthony. As he kept declining their offers, more and more lies came out as a result.

“As time passed, the timeshare never really lived up to all that it was made out to be. I was always having trouble using it and it didn’t get any better as time went on. It was getting more and more expensive with every passing year. To make matters worse, I have had several health complications since buying the timeshare that was now preventing me from traveling. The timeshare became useless to me, since I couldn’t use it.”

Anthony was already having issues with his timeshare and had been unable to use it since the initial purchase. Now he was experiencing health complications that put an end to traveling for him. He had no use for this timeshare, but the timeshare company seemed like they couldn't care less.

He tried working directly with the resort to manage a way out of his agreement but received no help. He then caught wind of Wesley Financial Group, LLC (“WFG”), a timeshare cancellation company that he had heard about on the radio. Anthony picked up his phone and the rest was history.

Now, Anthony is living timeshare-free for the first time in decades. WFG helped him terminate his agreement and now he is relieved of $1,200 in timeshare mortgage debt.*

If you know anyone with a similar timeshare experience, please feel free to pass our phone number along to them. We’d love to see if they qualify for our timeshare termination services.
