Dan and Mary P. were enjoying a vacation in Myrtle Beach, SC, when they were approached by a timeshare salesman. When they attended their timeshare sales meeting, Dan and Mary weren’t aware of the extremities that they would be subjected to. From the over four hour meeting, the couple was promised all sorts of extravagant gifts from three separate timeshare salesmen.
“Without understanding the full negative impact of our decision, we signed papers without fully understanding or reading them, only to learn the promises were not factual. Sitting for almost four hours really was more than we agreed to, but in the end, it was just a really bad mistake.”
The couple only used the timeshare once, and they say the cleanliness was so bad at the resort that they would never willingly use their timeshare again. This resort was once again in Myrtle Beach, and they had a terrible experience there between cleanliness and lack of hospitality.
“That Myrtle Beach trip was so bad that we told them we would never return. It wasn’t clean by any means. We were awakened each morning with the staff outside our room yelling and just acting terribly unprofessional. We had to step outside and ask them to be respectful of our resting time.”
When they attended an update presentation/meeting, the couple requested to sell it back to the timeshare or work out an arrangement. The timeshare managers laughed in Dan and Mary’s faces and said, “Good luck with that.” That was the final straw.
