Felicia Had Never Faced a Kind of Pressure Like That Timeshare Sales Meeting

Overwhelmed: the only emotion Felicia remembers feeling during her timeshare sales presentation. She had faced multiple sales representatives, hours upon hours of sitting in the same spot and hundreds of numbers being thrown at her about a timeshare she’d never considered prior to this pressure cooker.

Below is a firsthand, written account from Felicia A. about her continuously frustrating timeshare experience. We hope Felicia’s story will help shed a light on the deceptive practices of the timeshare sales industry. Names have been changed or redacted due to privacy concerns.

It’s often reported that many people are approached on the street about purchasing a timeshare when taking their vacation. However, timeshare sales representatives are, in fact, desperate enough to approach you after a family breakfast on vacation. Felicia’s story proves just that.

“We were eating at a pancake house during our vacation and we were stopped by a young man on the way out. He came with promises of gifts if we visited the resort and attended a short tour and presentation. Gifts such as some gift cards, coupons and tickets to local attractions were what he promised us.”

Felicia and her family took the bait, but when they attended the sales presentation, they weren’t prepared for the amount of time and effort that the representatives would go through just to make a sale. The family ultimately faced 3 different sales representatives before they succumbed to the pressure of their environment.

“I’m very sorry that I fell for such a ploy. I thought I was smarter than that, but looking back, I see that it wasn’t me that made that decision; it was the pressure of the sales representatives.”

When her family would try to book the timeshare, Felicia would constantly face hurdles and pressure that she knew in the back of her mind she wouldn’t have to face if she would simply book a traditional hotel room/suite. One visit took hours just to get a parking pass, the next would find the family in a unit with appliances falling apart. The final straw for Felicia and her family was when the amenity adjacent to the timeshare resort was used to develop more resort units. This particular amenity was the main reason why she had decided to keep paying and trying to enjoy her timeshare in the first place.

“When they were building on the golf course the next time we came back, it was like a knife through my heart! I couldn’t believe it. It was like the worst possible thing that could happen...and it happened! At that point, I felt that my time as a timeshare owner was just about over.”

Her children have already told her that they are not interested in inheriting the timeshare, so Felicia began looking for ways out of this nightmare. When she tried to resell her timeshare unit, she was appalled at the prices for which the units were selling online.

After some further research, Felicia found Wesley Financial Group, LLC (WFG) online. With our assistance and some back-and-forth negotiation on her part, Felicia is now timeshare-free!* If you know anyone with a similar timeshare experience, please feel free to pass our phone number along to them.
