Flexibility Soon Turned Into Captivity for Mike & Susan R.

Mike and Susan R. were invited to a complimentary vacation stay in Florida if they would attend a short presentation. They went on the vacation with every intention of declining any offers they might receive to buy anything. False promises and baseless lies eventually led them to believe otherwise...

We hope Mike and Susan’s written story helps expose the backward tactics the timeshare industry uses on innocent clients everyday. The names of people and companies have been changed and/or redacted for privacy concerns.

When Mike and Susan arrived at the short presentation that they were told would last 90 minutes, they went into the meeting with a united front: they would respectfully decline any and all offers from the timeshare sales company.

At the meeting, Susan recalls just what convinced her to rethink her stance on the timeshare itself. They’d heard of timeshares before, but she remembers the representative pitching this opportunity as something different than the traditional “timeshare” she was probably thinking of. The length of the presentation and other plans made prior to the presentation also helped push the couple into their timeshare purchase.

“The salesman told us that we have ownership--it’s like a mortgage that would go wherever we want it to go. We originally said no, but after 4 hours in the meeting and 45 minutes after we were supposed to meet friends, we decided to just sign what we needed to and get out. We didn’t think much about it, just took the offer that seemed the best at the time to get us out of that sales meeting.

They asked us where we’d like to go if we could vacation anywhere in the world, and we told them the Holy Land (Israel), so they told us that this is an option if we buy into this timeshare.”

The salesman offered them several more perks on top of the timeshare, which included three separate cruise packages if only they’d decide to purchase the timeshare that day. The couple soon realized that all these perks and simply signing on the dotted line would lead to many more headaches down the road.

“This timeshare has become a burden more than anything. We wanted to go to Montana, and we had to wait for a certain time because either we didn’t have enough points, it was the wrong time of year or everything was booked. We had to reserve something one year before we could even go on the trip.”

On top of the troubles making reservations, the couple soon realized that they were wasting approximately six thousand dollars each year between maintenance fees and mortgage payments for a timeshare they’d only used once.

“I could see how it might work for some, but it’s not ideal for us because we work a lot just to pay the bills and we can’t go immediately whenever they might have an opening. It’s not worth $12,000 over the past two years. We don’t want to waste our money anymore or have to pass this down to our children.”

After hearing of our services, Susan later found Wesley Financial Group, LLC (WFG), online. She reached out to our team and the couple was qualified for our timeshare cancellation services. Mike and Susan are now free of their timeshare burden thanks to the assistance of WFG!*

If you know someone who’s in timeshare distress and could use our legitimate services, pass along our phone number below. We would be more than happy to see if they qualify for our timeshare termination services.
