Jose R. never thought in a million years that he would encounter someone who would stoop so low in their attempt to make a sale. That is exactly what happened during a timeshare sales presentation that Jose attended in 2016.

Jose is a 20-year Marine Veteran who is permanently disabled from his duty as an officer. Jose was tricked at a timeshare presentation by a senior member of the timeshare team who was also a veteran. The timeshare representative used his veteran status as common ground and Jose trusted him. He used sales tricks and convinced Jose that purchasing the timeshare would be a good investment. After two and half hours of sitting in the presentation, Jose buckled to the pressure and ended up purchasing the timeshare.

He tried to book rooms for several years and was never successful due to the blackout dates or unavailability. He had not stayed in the timeshare once. This caused him severe anxiety and anger when trying to book his vacations. It even triggered his PTSD.

It was also difficult for him to pay the mortgage and maintenance fees when he was never able to use the timeshare. He felt hopeless and knew that this burden would eventually have a negative impact on his credit if he didn’t pay the mortgage payments. He was hoping to buy a real home in the near future, but was afraid it would destroy his chances.

When Jose reached out to us for help, he told us he was sick of the major headache and mental stress from the timeshare. We contacted the timeshare for cancellation, but they ignored all of our correspondence. After a few months, they finally reached out and released Jose from his contract. He was extremely relieved.

Oftentimes, the timeshare company will find a way to relate to the person they are trying to sell a timeshare to. They have been known to bend the truth when it comes to who they are depending on or who they are talking to at the time. Be wary of this if you ever find yourself in a timeshare presentation.

If you have already experienced this, and have been lied to or misled when you purchased your timeshare, we may be able to help. Give us a call today to see if you qualify for our timeshare cancellation services.
