Told They Would Have An ADA Compliant Room...

Janice and Wade attended a timeshare presentation and purchased a unit which was supposed to be ADA compliant. They gave specific instructions during the presentation that they needed an ADA compliant room because Wade has tremors. The timeshare sales representative promised them that they would get a handicap accessible unit.

When they went on their first vacation, there were no handicap parking spots near their unit and they had to park a mile down the road. By the time they made it to the room, Wade was triggered into an episode.

When they called to complain, the timeshare sales person told them that the handicap spots were on a first come, first served basis, and that handicap rooms had to be specifically mentioned before booking. Janice informed them that she was told during the sales presentation that the unit she purchased would be handicap accessible. They told her there was no documentation showing that.

Wade was so fed up, he immediately wanted to cancel their timeshare contract. Not only was he upset for having to park so far away and carry all of their luggage through Gatlinburg, but also for the fact that they had been lied to about their entire timeshare purchase.

We are currently working to get Janice and Wade out of their timeshare contract. They were blatantly lied to about almost everything during the original presentation.
