Laurie Was Roped Into A Timeshare Against Her Wishes

To say that Laurie S. was wined and dined by the timeshare resort staff would be an understatement. Whether it was an invitation to stay at their newly renovated resort or the free meals and tickets to local attractions she received, Laurie was being treated quite well during her stay. It was not until after she left that she realized the staff had an underlying agenda.

This is a firsthand account from Laurie, a timeshare victim, who is sharing her story with us in hopes that it will serve as a warning to others from making the same potential mistakes she did. Names have been changed or omitted due to privacy concerns.

“I remember the first meeting I had at the resort. It was very high energy and I didn’t like it there at all. It seemed like I was in a room where they were buying and trading stocks, that’s how hectic it was in there. And whenever they made a sale, they rang this big gong and would parade around the room. It was uncomfortable for me, but I did not know how to get out of there as more and more people kept coming up to me and wouldn’t let me leave.”

Needless to say, Laurie felt trapped by these timeshare salespeople. They were relentless with the pressure at this presentation and it did not let up for hours on end, despite it only being advertised to last for 60 minutes.

“They wore me out and broke me down until I just agreed to whatever it was so I could finally leave. Afterward, I felt conned and like they had taken advantage of me. Not to mention, the timeshare was pretty much useless because I was not able to use it in all my ten years of owning it. They also left me unaware that the fees would climb higher every year. It was financially draining.”

Turns out, Laurie had good reasons for not initially being interested in owning a timeshare as just about everything the salespeople told her, turned out to be lies. She regretted ever attending the resort in the first place.

“When they were raving about how great timeshares were, they went on about how I would be able to give the timeshare property to a family member in my will. Little did I know the maintenance fees would last forever and only get more expensive over time. Why would I want to saddle one of my relatives with a burden like this?”

This timeshare became more of a burden than Laurie ever could have expected. Although she was never interested from the beginning, it still turned out to be nothing like she was sold on. Laurie was planning to retire soon, but the growing debt of this timeshare was now a huge roadblock to overcome. Knowing she could not do this on her own, she sought out help.

Help is exactly what she found when she called Wesley Financial Group, LLC (“WFG”), one of the leading timeshare exit companies of the industry. Now Laurie is living timeshare-free as her agreement with the resort was completely canceled with the help and guidance of WFG.* We hope she is happy with her newfound financial freedom and can enjoy a relaxing retirement!
