Rachael & Richard C. Were Fed Lie After Lie From Timeshare Salespeople

If you have ever owned a timeshare then you know all too well how deceptive their representatives can be. Rachael and Richard had to learn this firsthand from their initial sales presentation to the countless and constant calls they received urging them to upgrade. Luckily, they were able to eventually terminate their timeshares. Below are written excerpts from the couple on how they did so. Names of people and places have been changed and/or redacted for privacy reasons.

Rachael and Richard’s timeshare experience started just like many others. They thought it was a solution to their travel woes, but soon they realized it would only add more stress to their lives.

“We originally purchased our timeshare because my sister already had one there, and we liked the idea that we could all vacation together. They were always pressuring us to upgrade though and would go so far as to always offer us $100 gift cards every time just to attend their presentations. We did not want to strap ourselves down financially because we did not travel that often, but they would make us feel guilty for not going through with an upgrade.”

Timeshare salespeople can be persistent. This isn’t just the case at the first sales presentation, but can continue in future meetings and even phone calls persuading owners into unnecessary upgrades. And they never give up.

“When we’d tell the representative we had decided not to upgrade, then they would just bring in another representative to try and convince us. At one meeting, they told us they would help us sell our timeshares but when we met with them again they said they do not sell timeshares. They said if we upgraded there would be more options. We always felt pushed to meet their financial requirements in order to upgrade.”

Knowing they could not continue to afford their timeshare payments and wanting to protect their children from it, Rachael and Richard knew it was time to find a solution.

“We are senior citizens with limited incomes and we know our limitations financially and physically. As timeshare owners, we were burdened with financial stress and we did not want that passed on to our children. We knew to stop the stress, we needed to get rid of our timeshares.”

The married couple reached out to us at Wesley Financial Group, LLC (“WFG”) to finally escape their timeshare nightmare and we were happy to help. Along with terminating both their timeshare agreements, we were also able to relieve them of close to $10,000 in timeshare mortgage debt.* Rachael and Richard are now happy to be both timeshare free and stress-free.
