Travis and wife were promised that they could bring their dog to their timeshare. After owning their timeshare for one month, they soon realized this was not the case when they were told to take it to a kennel upon arrival. Below is a word for word account of the timeshare ordeal that Travis experienced. We hope his written account will enlighten some of the tactics that the timeshare industry often uses on good, unsuspecting people. Names of people have been changed and/or redacted for privacy reasons.
“The main pain was when we purchased our timeshare we were told that we could use it anytime we wanted with prior approval. We were also told we could bring our pet, as long as it was a small dog. Of course, none of this was true. After our purchase, we returned the following year with our small dog and we were told that we would have to take our dog to a kennel, and it wasn't allowed to stay in our timeshare. Of course, we argued with no success. We wanted to talk with our sales person, of which we dealt with when we purchased it, but he no longer worked for the timeshare company.”
Flexibility was one of the main reasons Travis felt confident in purchasing his timeshare. Unfortunately, after signing the agreement, he and his wife felt like they had no vacation freedoms.
“Our sales rep told us that our timeshare had a lot of flexibility, like we could use it anytime we wanted. This was not the case. Many times when we tried to book in advance our timeshare was listed as unavailable. Our presentation also lasted for close to two hours and we spoke to numerous different salesmen.”
For the past three years, Travis and his wife had been looking for a way out of their timeshare. Finally, one day they saw an advertisement for Wesley Financial Group, LLC (“WFG”), while doing research on the internet.
“We looked at reviews from different cancellation companies and we liked a few different ones, but WFG was higher rated and offered a 100% guarantee. That was the ultimate factor for us.”
After signing on with Wesley Financial Group, LLC, Travis was relieved of over $15,000 in timeshare mortgage debt.*
“Our experience with WFG was excellent, they’ve done everything they promised, stayed in contact with me, and answered any questions that I had. Now that I’m free of my timeshare, I will make sure to never invest in a timeshare ever again.”
