Beatrice and Peter were told that their timeshare would be “the best investment you’ll ever make.” The hardworking couple quickly found out that this couldn’t be more false of a statement.
The following includes written statements of the timeshare nightmare that Beatrice and Peter faced. We hope their experience will showcase the tactics that the timeshare industry often uses on innocent, trusting people. Names of people have been changed and/or removed for privacy concerns.
“We never used our timeshare. The dates we requested were rarely available. The yearly dues increased every year, which was conveniently left out during our sales meeting. We felt it was a waste of our hard-earned money to pay for something we have never used. Working as a nurse and us owning a new business, we didn’t have time for a vacation.”
Looking back at the couple’s sales meeting, Beatrice remembers a few of the lies she and her husband were told.
“They said that this would be the best investment we would ever make, and that we would never need to consider going anywhere else because the timeshare offered everything we might want or need. They also told us that time availability wouldn’t be an issue. They explained with our plan and ‘bonus time’ we would always be able to get into whatever resort we wanted. We were told the timeshare would buy back our timeshare if we no longer wanted it. None of this turned out to be true.”
Beatrice and Peter first reached out to the timeshare company to explain their frustrations. They were left with empty answers. Their next step included contacting a timeshare seller, but yet again, they realized there was still no end in sight.
“It had been eight plus years when I finally saw an advertisement on a social media site for Wesley Financial. I watched their video, researched their website, read the reviews, and decided I felt confident enough to go through with the service.”
We are pleased to announce that we were able to assist Beatrice and Peter in terminating their timeshare agreement.* When looking back on her service with Wesley Financial Group, LLC (“WFG”), Beatrice most enjoyed the knowledge and support she received from the WFG staff.
“Each customer service agent was so friendly and polite. I like how I was kept in the loop through emails and phone calls through each stage of the process. I liked how they checked on me during the whole process to see if I had any questions. The written material I received was well written and explained the process. I believe the experience went smoother than expected. The timeshare was cooperative with them and proceeded with our request to cancel. I love how the agents described in detail what to expect.”
Now that the couple is timeshare free, they’re enjoying paying off bills, growing their business, and saving up for a new house without a timeshare sucking away their finances.
