James Had To Compromise His Retirement For His Timeshare Purchases

You should never have to compromise your retirement savings. You worked hard for many years to build up that account and it should not be diminished by con artists. This is basically what happened to James H. and it could possibly happen to you next.

James is just like many of us. He’s a U.S. Army veteran and a family man who just so happens to enjoy his vacation time. It was that last bit of information though that timeshare salespeople hooked onto and would not let go of. James ended up being put through the wringer with his timeshare experience and even had to dip into his retirement accounts to help fund it.

While life may be better for James now, his timeshare experience lasted for several gruesome years and at some points, there was not much hope left. Hear his story below and see how he was able to put an end to this timeshare nightmare and come out on top, with a little help from us of course.

His First Encounter With The Timeshare Company

“When we originally went to hear about the timeshare, we were offered a $100 gift card to attend their sales presentation. We spent nearly 4 hours there and yet we still were not offered enough time to read the agreement nor were the terms of it fully explained to us. At the time, we were told we were getting in on a special deal and that it was an investment that would increase in value the longer we owned it.”

James and his wife were misled into believing they were the lucky ones on the receiving end for this deal of a lifetime. The salespeople went on and on about the perks of owning a timeshare but never delved into the important details of the agreement. Despite being a supposed great deal, James was still pushed to take funds from his retirement account to cover the initial costs.

Lies, Lies, & More Lies!

“The sales associate made it sound so easy to travel any time we wanted, but that was not the case for us. We were then required to attend a mandatory training session where we were once again given a $100 gift card for listening to another sales presentation. They told us they had another special deal for us, which was to purchase additional points, so we did.”

After this second encounter with timeshare salespeople, James’ trust in them was beginning to wear thin. He did not appreciate the immense pressure put onto him for these additional points and when he realized they were of no real help to him, he felt cheated and embarrassed

“We felt we had been lied to on multiple occasions now and taken advantage of by the timeshare sales associates. Had we known the whole truth behind this purchase, we never would have made the commitment to this timeshare company. They created great harm and unnecessary stress on my family.”

Now it was James’ understanding that his timeshare unit could always be sold for a profit at a later date. At least that’s what he was told in that initial sales presentation… Turns out that was just another lie, as James had great difficulty when negotiating this with the resort. There for a little bit, he just felt stuck with this timeshare and the impending costs for it that never stopped.

James Was Ready To Move On From His Timeshare

“This timeshare posed many hardships for my family. In addition to the high costs, it was also taking away from our retirement accounts. My family and I no longer desired to struggle with using this timeshare for our vacations due to all the challenges it created for us.”

You heard it straight from the source! James and his family were ready to completely do away with their timeshare and move on it from this experience. With no luck in selling it, they turned their attention to the timeshare cancellation industry. After thoroughly researching all of his options, James only had one company that stuck out to him.

Wesley Financial Group, LLC. Since 2011, we have canceled over 15,000 timeshares resulting in the relief of over $200,000,000 in timeshare mortgage debt, so it’s safe to say James had a pretty easy decision to make. He made the right decision, and within only 6 months he was timeshare-free!* Now he can put the focus back onto his retirement and time spent with his loved ones.
