Phillip & Whitney’s Timeshare Brought Them Nothing But Stress

While celebrating on their honeymoon, Phillip and Whitney were first introduced to the world of timeshares. Salespeople in the city they were visiting persuaded them to attend a “short” presentation of theirs. Looking back on that day, this couple wishes they never would have talked to those salespeople.

The following is a written account from Phillip and Whitney describing their terrible experience as timeshare owners and why they had to get out of the whole deal. The process of getting out was much more complicated than they ever expected, but with the help of a specific company, they were finally able to see it happen. The names of people and companies have been changed or omitted due to privacy concerns.

“We were enjoying time together on our honeymoon when we were approached on the street by a couple of salesmen who wanted us to attend their presentation. They offered us a gift card and it was only supposed to be for 45 minutes, so we figured why not. Well, that ended up being 3 hours instead and although we did not want to purchase a timeshare, we felt like we could not leave until we did so.”

Once they realized what they had just done, Phillip and Whitney figured they would try to make the most of it. Unfortunately, that was not much at all.

“Ever since we became timeshare owners, we could never book trips to any of the places we actually wanted to go. The few times that we did use the timeshare, we had to visit places that were not ideally vacation spots but just what was available. Everything about it made for such an underwhelming experience.”

Despite all the praising and bold statements made by the salespeople about what all timeshares could offer, it never lived up to being anywhere close to those standards. When the couple voiced their frustrations to the timeshare company, they wouldn’t make any progress to a solution. It was as if every time they talked to a resort representative, it was another sales pitch.

“During the last couple of times we used the timeshare, we arranged meetings to speak with some higher-ups about the issues we were having and potentially getting out of our deal with them. Of course, that led nowhere for us and they just tried to upsell us on upgrading our unit which we fell for before. This was a financial burden for us and the prices for it were skyrocketing in the most recent years. We knew we had to find a way out of it or risk passing it down to our children one day and them having to deal with the excessive costs.”

When Phillip and Whitney heard a radio advertisement for Wesley Financial Group, LLC they thought it was a sign. They gave us a call to see how we could help and we got right to work on their cancellation. Not only were we able to see that they got out of their agreement completely, but we were also able to relieve them of $17,000 in debt associated with their timeshare.* Vacations should not be stressful, and now this couple can go back to enjoying their trips.

If you know anyone with a similar timeshare experience, please feel free to pass our phone number along to them. We’d love to see if they qualify for our timeshare termination services.
