Rick and Christine R. Were Bothered For More Money After Buying Timeshare

After getting manipulated into buying a timeshare, Rick and Christine were bothered with call after call by a sales team that wanted more of their money. The following includes first hand excerpts from the timeshare ordeal Rick and Christine experienced. We hope their written account will enlighten some of the tactics that the timeshare industry often uses on good, unsuspecting people. Names of people have been changed and/or redacted for privacy reasons.

“Our first experience came when we were told we received a promotion that included a free 90-minute presentation. What we didn’t know is that it would turn into four hours of multiple sales representatives trying to sell us a timeshare. They were very pushy and kept telling us all of the benefits; like how we could go anywhere we wanted. They even tried to sell us multiple units.”

Feeling flustered Rick and Christine had a lot of thoughts racing through their minds. They were feeling pressured but definitely needed some questions answered first. However, the timeshare sales team wasn’t going to cooperate that easily.

“They didn’t answer any of our questions. One of the bigger questions we had was, ‘If we passed away, would our children inherit our timeshare and have to keep paying the annual fees for it every year?’ They quickly brushed that off and moved on to the next topic.”

It didn’t take long for the retired couple to realize just what they had been misled into buying. They felt sick and wanted out immediately.

“After just having the timeshare for a year or so, we began to realize how bad the maintenance fees really were. We simply couldn’t afford it. We were lied to and made to believe that it was a great investment. Not only that, but after we made the purchase, the sales representatives called us weekly with ‘special offers’ saying we could travel anywhere we wanted if we bought more points. This got very annoying and eventually we quit answering the calls. They left messages stating that I need to call back as soon as possible because it was very important.”

Luckily, Rick and Christine reached out to us and we were able to assist them in freeing up their timeshare obligation. Now, they don’t have to worry about rising fees or potentially willing their timeshare to their children.*

If you know someone whose experience sounds familiar to that of Rick and Christine’s, feel free to pass along our information. Our team would be happy to see if they qualify for our timeshare termination services.
