Tommy P.’s Loyalty Cost Him +$32,000 Over Several Years

“The properties are nice and I’m faithful to [timeshare company] for both business and personal travel. This is why I chose to actually try the vacation club originally, I suppose.

...But correspondence with personnel have since led me to feel otherwise.”

The following is a written account of Tommy’s experience during and after the exhausting timeshare sales presentation. We hope this story will shed some light on the very predatory nature of timeshare sales and its effects on everyday families. Names of people have been changed and/or redacted for privacy reasons.

“I was hesitant the first time I signed up. The presentation and paperwork took WAY longer than I was originally told. I had invited a few friends to hang out during this weekend, and they were quite upset when I spent the entire morning (clear up to lunch!) in the presentation and signing up.

I purchased the timeshare, though, because they told me that once I paid off the property, I would have a “free” hotel booking and could just spend my money on travel whenever I wanted a quick trip. I thought it to be like a traditional mortgage, but that is CERTAINLY not the case!”

Tommy was then offered several upgrades to his timeshare options throughout the years, and he even took one offer. He eventually learned the name of the timeshare sales game, and so he opted out of the most recent offer. He was sick of paying so much money for a timeshare he had only personally used once.

“A ‘fun/cheap’ weekend has cost me +$32k in a mortgage, fees, maintenance, etc. - and I’ve only ever used the program once personally. Another time, I gave a timeshare location to some family friends because I was so sick of not using it.

I gave up for a while and just assumed I was stuck with this thing. I came to terms that it was a mistake, and I could at least convert my points to another program, where they wouldn’t expire under the current terms (which ultimately cost me MORE money!)”

Tommy regrets his timeshare purchase and hopes that his experience will help others avoid purchasing into a timeshare trap themselves.

“[The timeshare company] claims that you have all these wonderful opportunities to vacation with them, when actually the points and options are so limited that it makes me sick to be paying this much for something I can’t use. I can’t wait to feel more freedom with my time and money, as well as have many more vacation opportunities by simply choosing any place I want to vacation rather than being stuck with their stupid “availability.”’

After seeing an advertisement online for Wesley Financial Group, LLC (WFG), Tommy contacted us here at WFG. Thankfully, WFG has assisted him with successfully terminating his timeshare and he can now travel much easier for thousands of dollars less per year!*

If you or someone you know could potentially use our assistance here at WFG, pass along our phone number below. We would be more than happy to see if they qualify for our timeshare termination services!
