Veronica J. Was Told Her Timeshare Included Trips To Europe

The following is a written account of the timeshare debacle that Veronica and her family experienced. We hope her words will showcase some of the strategies that the timeshare sales teams use on innocent clients. Names of people have been changed and/or redacted for privacy reasons.

“At the time of purchase, I was a pampered chef consultant and retired nurse. My husband was still employed by the state and retired from the U.S. Air Force. We had talked about traveling to Italy and Scotland for several years and we had finally made it into a spot in our careers where we could do so. One of the complaints we heard from our parents was that we couldn’t take them on longer trips because health issues prevented. We were told that if we purchased a timeshare we could travel to Italy while still taking vacations closer to home with the family. None of this turned out to be true.”

With an inkling of interest into what a timeshare could offer, Veronica and her husband attended a presentation where they were fed lie after lie.

“We were told the monthly mortgage fees would not change for the life of the mortgage and the maintenance fees may increase based on the needs for upkeep of the resort we belonged to. The selling points were the pictures of the resorts in Italy and Scotland, as well as places in the western U.S. They told us we could easily, and with little incurred cost, gift it to our children in our wills. We were assured all of the properties were luxurious. We were hooked!”

It didn’t take long for both Veronica and her husband to start uncovering a few of the lies that were conveyed to them. The first being the so-called benefit of gifting your timeshare to your offspring.

“We were told this would be a very good present to give to our family upon our deaths and something they would enjoy for their lives. We learned, though, that the yearly maintenance and other fees would, in fact be going up, which we believe is unfair to leave that burden for our children.”

Veronica and her husband felt like they had been taken advantage of. They admit they had high vacation dreams, but their timeshare sales teams took those dreams and turned them into a fraudulent timeshare agreement. Looking for a way out, Veronica tried to sell her timeshare at first.

“We first went with a company that rents and sells your timeshare. In the year of the contract that we agreed to, the property was never rented, they did not sell it, nor did they respond to our calls.”

The couple felt stranded. How could they possibly get out of this financial mess? One day, they heard a radio commercial for Wesley Financial Group, LLC (WFG). From the jump, it was clear that WFG was the perfect fit for Veronica and her family.

“WFG was the one company we heard about most frequently. We looked at the success rate, the promise of getting us out of the timeshare, a person for us to work with and guide us through the process, a person to help us with credit repair, if necessary.”

We are happy to announce that our team has been able to assist Veronica in terminating her timeshare agreement. She’s now in the final stages of her termination process and looks forward to the freedom of future travel excursions.*

“It has been wonderful. The people assigned to us have been very helpful and hopeful. When we received the nasty/threatening letters, WFG people reassured us this was their normal process and to trust them. The friendliness, helpfulness, reassurance and words of hopefulness for us were amazing. It gives us the confidence that we will be free of this timeshare soon enough!”
