Evan & Diana Were Lied To About Reduced Rates For Timeshares

Hearing about good experiences from family and friends, Evan and Diana thought a timeshare would be a good idea. Sadly, they were mistaken as they encountered dishonest timeshare salespeople left and right. Below is their story. We hope it will enlighten you to the deceptive tactics that are very common within the timeshare industry. Names of people and places have been changed or redacted for privacy reasons.

“Every day of our vacation we were approached by salespeople of the resort to take their tour. We brushed them off in the beginning, but on one of our last days there, we decided to partake. We learned about the timeshares there but told them we were not interested.”

One would think this would be the end of Evan and Diana’s story but unfortunately, it wasn’t. These salespeople were not there to just give a tour and they would not go away easily.

“Then they told us the new phase of construction at the resort would be ending soon and that timeshare weeks were offered at reduced rates before it finished. We were under the impression that before too long, as in just a few months, the timeshare costs would increase substantially. They followed that up by offering us a free, two-week stay at their resort. It was all happening very fast, but they had our interest by this point, and they knew it too.”

Timeshare salespeople are constantly trying to throw you off your game and cause you to think irrationally. They’ll offer you gifts, discounts, and more just to keep you from asking the wrong questions.

“Other than that free two-week stay in the beginning, we did not use the timeshare at all. As the years passed, our lives changed and that included job loss, health issues, and other commitments. We continued to pay the outrageous maintenance fees despite never using the property, but then it got to a breaking point. The fees had increased so much over the years, we were not sure we could still afford it.”

Maintenance fees increase with each coming year. That’s just a fact. If you are a timeshare owner and paying these fees now, you can see how much yours will increase with our Maintenance Fee Calculator.

“We looked into selling the timeshare because we remembered the salespeople telling us that was possible. But when we reached out to the resort about doing so, they said we would be unable to do so. It had become such a financial burden for us and was only stressing us out. I thought timeshares were for relaxing.”

It wasn’t long into their search for a way out of their timeshare that they came across Wesley Financial Group, LLC. Always happy to take on new clients who need our services, Evan and Diana became a part of the Wesley family. In the following months, we successfully terminated their timeshare agreement and freed them of ever having to associate with that resort again.* Now, they can go back to relaxing vacations rather than stressful ones.
