Jack & Stephanie A. Had High Hopes for Their Timeshare Before Reality Set In

Jack and Stephanie A., both native New Jersians, were on a distant vacation in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina for the first time when they were pitched the idea of a timeshare. They’d fallen in love with the idea of traveling (as most people do during lengthy, pushy sales presentations) so they’d decided to purchase the timeshare. Then reality set in...

The following is a written account of the timeshare debacle that Jack and Stephanie experienced. We hope their story will showcase some of the strategies that the timeshare sales teams use on innocent clients. Names of people have been changed and/or redacted for privacy reasons.

Jack and Stephanie’s Myrtle Beach vacation getaway was much needed as the stress of their lives had been building for some time. It was the first vacation they’d had in a while and they were even more enticed by the idea of regular vacations during their timeshare sales presentation. On top of that idea, they’d been offered numerous free gifts/incentives that included tickets to local entertainment, dinner at Myrtle Beach’s finest restaurants and several other gifts for things-to-do around the area.

The couple was told that the meeting would only last 90 minutes, but as with so many customers before, the meeting lasted long enough to heavily pressure them into a decision they probably wouldn’t have made otherwise. On top of that, the meeting was full of so many blatant lies.

“They told us that we could use the timeshare at the resort whenever we wanted each year. They also told us that we would own it forever and not just 25 years, so that we could leave it to our children and they would own it outright as well.

After 4 hours of selling pitches and constant offers, I succumbed to the pressure just to get it over with. They were as pushy as car salesmen.”

The couple didn’t really think much of the monthly maintenance fees and other costs until they actually tried to reserve a room the next year. After several attempts of booking and swapping around their personal schedules, they’d managed to reserve a time for their family vacation.

“The 13 hour drive (that we made for the first time in over a year) with our family in the car was bad enough, but when we got there so much had changed and it wasn’t what we expected at all.

The golf course was removed to put in more units nearby, there was no cable for the TV, and several appliances like the dishwasher and air conditioner weren’t working correctly. I kept asking myself why we pay so much for something that doesn’t work when we barely get to use it to begin with.”

Jack and Stephanie felt trapped by their timeshare since these first few visits, mostly because they hadn’t been able to travel elsewhere due to the rising fees associated with their timeshare. On top of the financial stress it had caused their family, the couple found themselves struggling to arrange the 13+ hour drive, along with the trip itself with their family getting older. Eventually, they knew that they had to find a way out of this never-ending nightmare.

They saw an advertisement for Wesley Financial Group, LLC (WFG) on social media, and so they decided to see if they qualified for our timeshare cancellation services. Once they’d gone through the qualification process, WFG was able to help the couple finally terminate their timeshare!* They are now able to enjoy other vacations with their family without the ongoing burden of paying for a timeshare they cannot use.

If you or someone you know might have been pressured into a timeshare purchase and could use our legitimate services, contact us for more information using the number below. We would be more than happy to see if they qualify for our timeshare termination services.
