Marine Veteran Had To Reach Into His Savings To Keep Up With Timeshare Costs

Being financially conservative has its benefits. You create strong habits that will help build your wealth over time which is great. But this does not seem to go hand in hand with a timeshare.

Jonathan F. and his wife viewed themselves as financially conservative, so you can imagine how shocked they were to find themselves in a timeshare trap. Within just a few years, they were in financial distress and had no choice but to dip into their savings to stay afloat.

Find out from Jonathan how he and his family got stuck in this uncompromising situation to begin with and also how they were able to finally get out of it. We hope his retelling of the story will shed a light on the deceitful practices running rampant within the timeshare sales industry.

“My wife was confronted by sales representatives at a Bass Pro Shop store. She is very cautious financially but was led to believe their sales pitch. We received a free 3-day vacation and a $100 gift card to sit through a 2-hour presentation. There they showed us all these gorgeous resorts we’d be able to bring our family to with a timeshare. We were hesitant about buying one at first, until they said we’d be able to transfer it to our family in the future at no cost.”

Knowing that they could pass down this timeshare to family members later down the line spiked the couple’s interest, but it was never brought to their attention that the maintenance fees would also be transferred. On top of that, they did not even know these fees would be increasing annually. Finding this out certainly caused Jonathan and his wife to have a change of heart about being timeshare owners.

“Eventually we were called to come back to the resort for some sort of owner’s meeting. Sadly we agreed to go after the fifth call in a span of two weeks. They again offered us a free vacation for attending, and I wanted to ask further questions about the issues we were having so we agreed to go. It was no help though. Just another sales pitch trying to get us to buy more.”

Jonathan and his family joined a long list of victims to the timeshare sales industry. They were baited into a purchase that they were misguided on the benefits and drawbacks of. After several years of bearing this growing financial burden, Jonathan was ready for a change.

“I tried multiple times to contact the resort about selling it back to them. [The Salespeople] led us to believe we could turn around and sell the timeshare and all our points back to them whenever we wanted. When I tried, all they could do was list it for us but we would have to pay a monthly price for that, plus we’d have to still pay the monthly mortgage while it’s being listed. I told them I didn’t even want to sell it for anything. I just wanted to get rid of it!”

Working with the resort was helpless. Jonathan soon recognized that so he began looking at alternative options. This is what led him to find our website and learn about Wesley Financial Group, LLC (“WFG”). Wasting no time, he called us eagerly to see if he qualified for our award-winning timeshare termination services.

Jonathan and his family did in fact qualify and after just a few months of working with us, they were once again timeshare-free!*
