Rebecca’s Trip To The Bahamas Is One She’ll Never Forget

Ten years ago, Rebecca was off to the Bahamas for a vacation with her family. Unfortunately for them, nothing on this trip went as planned. The result was a retired woman taking on the financial burden of a timeshare when she truly had no clue what she was getting into.

This is Rebecca’s timeshare story in her own words. Continue reading below to see what all Rebecca and her family were put through by the timeshare industry, and you’ll see why she doesn’t want anybody else to experience what she did. Names of companies and people have been changed or omitted due to privacy concerns.

“It all began when my family and I were going to the Bahamas one summer. We had a resort booked, but when we got there, nothing worked and security was lacking so we were concerned about staying. So we got a refund and looked for a different resort. That’s what brought us to a close-by timeshare. They said we could get a room there but it would be much cheaper if we just bought a timeshare because they don’t usually rent out rooms to non-owners.”

Here, timeshare representatives took full advantage of a family who was out of their comfort zone and unaware of the timeshare world. Rebecca was exploited for a lack of knowledge of timeshares and because she now had limited options for her family, she agreed to a timeshare purchase.

“The rest of our Bahamas trip went fine, but later on, I realized there was a lot about the timeshare that I was not made aware of. For one, the sales representatives never mentioned that the maintenance fees would get more and more expensive over time, nor did they say anything about these fees being passed along to my children when I pass away.”

Over the next couple of years, Rebecca constantly had issues with her timeshare and she looked back at that initial meeting with the resort as nothing but a lie-filled sales pitch.

“I also had trouble booking more vacations for my family after the Bahamas trip. Over the next ten years of owning a timeshare, I only used it three times in total. That’s because it was so difficult to book anything. I was trying to book a full year in advance and could hardly ever get a room. The prices were going up and I was using it less and less. It did not make sense to keep.”

Rebecca grew tired of trying to keep up with the increasing costs for her timeshare and decided to do something about it. She tried to work directly with the resort but they disrespectfully ignored her pleas for help and essentially told her she was on her own.

“I talked to just about everybody at the timeshare resort because when I called for help they would just keep transferring me to different phone lines there but nobody would actually help. I spent hours with them but made no progress. That’s when I decided to call Wesley Financial Group, LLC who I had seen several advertisements for and thought they could help me.”

When Rebecca called Wesley Financial Group, LLC, no time was wasted in getting her set up with our timeshare cancellation services. Despite how tragic her story was, it was nothing that WFG had not encountered before in this industry.
