Regina G. Had a Timeshare For 20 Years That She Could Never Use

Regina’s timeshare experience began like so many others. She was offered a free stay at a resort. All she had to do was agree to attend a short presentation. Regina had no idea she was actually walking into a heavily pressured sales pitch for timeshares. The “short” presentation lasted over 3 hours long and by the end of it, she was left dazed and confused.

Below is a written account directly from Regina that details her experience as a timeshare owner. Hoping others don’t make the same mistake, she is now sharing her story with all of us, hoping that it will shed a light on the deceptive practices of the treacherous timeshare industry. Names have been changed or redacted due to privacy concerns.

“I received an invitation to stay at a resort for free, as long as I agreed to go to a presentation of theirs. I didn’t know it was just going to be an intense sales pitch. I had my children with me because it was our vacation and the presentation was supposed to be short. It was not! It lasted for hours and by the end of it, they had me convinced I could travel anywhere in the world at any time I wanted to.”

There was a lot of important information about timeshares that was not properly relayed to Regina. The salespeople intentionally left out certain aspects about timeshare ownership as they knew it would hurt their chances of making a sale. Regina had to find out the truth about timeshares the hard way.

“They never mentioned or explained the points system to me. I thought I would be able to vacation with the timeshare every year, but now I found out I would have to pay more every time for these points. I was also left completely unaware of maintenance fees, so after owning it for just two years, I was sent over to collections for failing to pay them. Keep in mind, I never once received a bill from them during that time.”

Maintenance fees can be a real deal-breaker for most. This is why timeshare salespeople often heavily downplay them or in this case, just don’t mention them at all. Regina is certain that she would have never agreed to this timeshare purchase if she was made aware of these fees.

“Owning a timeshare was very frustrating, especially since I was never able to use it. In all my years of owning, close to 20 years, I never got to use it. When I tried to book trips, everything was always unavailable or included more fees that doubled the cost. The salespeople told me this would save me money for vacations, but it did the opposite for me and cost me a fortune!”

Regina had invested nearly $80,000 into her timeshare and had nothing to show for it. She read online how timeshare expenses can burden your children when you pass away, and this was not a risk she wanted to take. She quickly began researching for timeshare exit options and that’s when she came across Wesley Financial Group, LLC (WFG).

With the help of WFG, Regina is now timeshare-free!* We worked closely with her over the past year to ensure her timeshare agreement was completely terminated and the financial burden was lifted from her shoulders.

“I am so happy not having to pay those maintenance fees anymore! Also knowing my children will never be burdened with them is a great feeling to have. I can finally vacation free of stress again.”

If you know anyone with a similar timeshare experience, please feel free to pass our phone number along to them. We’d love to see if they qualify for our timeshare termination services.
