A Money-Eating Timeshare Was Not A Part Of Jason G.’s Retirement Plan

After a long career in construction management, Jason thought a timeshare would be a great way to spend retirement. He was made to believe that his timeshare would give him vacation freedom. He’d soon find out that this couldn't be further from the truth.

“I remember during our sales presentation they made this particular timeshare out to seem like the best thing in the world. They kept pitching it to us by telling us how many places you can go and they’re all either cheap or free vacations. We were hooked, but it didn’t take long for us to find the truth about these so-called deals.”

Jason began to feel very uneasy about the amount of money leaving his bank account every year. Especially since he felt like he wasn’t getting very much in return. 

“I think what really drove me out of my timeshare was the ever increasing maintenance fees and mandatory membership within the timeshare management company. Between both of these fees, I was paying close to $1,000 per year. That was just unacceptable, especially for someone like myself that’s in retirement and on a fixed income.”

Feeling like he has been misled into the benefits of his timeshare, Jason started to explore his options for giving his unit back to the timeshare management group he purchased it from.
