With a master's degree in psychology, Tyler considers himself to be pretty attentive to deceiving sales strategies. So when he realized he was tricked into his timeshare agreement, he felt immediate regret. Below is a word for word account of the timeshare ordeal that Tyler experienced. We hope his written account will shine a light on some of the tactics that the timeshare industry often uses on good, unsuspecting people. Names of people have been changed and/or redacted for privacy reasons.
“I have owned my own consulting firm for the last 41 years. I consider myself bright and educated and can't believe I fell for the sales pitch and lies during our presentations. They kept telling me, ‘This is a today offer only, the prices are only going to go up.’ There was never any mention of additional fees when buying points and they kept assuring me that they’re not paid based on commission.”
When it came to finally making the decision to terminate his timeshare, there were two major reasons for Tyler – the maintenance fees and his recent difficulties with travel.
“My maintenance fee was $650 when I started. The sales lady talked us into buying more points to get a villa in Kauai. There was no mention of maintenance fees for this. Now, our yearly fees are $2,500. The final straw was with covid and there was no discount or waiver of fees even though we couldn't fly to Hawaii and most services were shut down.”
Tyler felt stranded in a money-eating pit. He couldn’t believe that he fell for such a fraudulent scam. But one day he found a beacon of hope when he saw a commercial for Wesley Financial Group, LLC (WFG). He was impressed with WFG’s background, reputation, and success record.
“Everyone has been so accessible during this process. Everything about the cancellation process is very legitimate and I am very grateful for all of the work Wesley has done for me.”
Our team is in the final stages of Tyler’s timeshare agreement termination. We expect a full termination very soon and can’t wait to assist Tyler in getting back to more of a normal vacation experience.*
“Everyone at WFG is very prompt and courteous. Their team has great follow through and for that I am very pleased. I am very satisfied as we get closer and closer to my timeshare being cancelled.”
