Ruby L. Thought A Timeshare Would Benefit Her Family

When Ruby was first pulled into a timeshare sales presentation, she did not know what to expect. She had no prior experience or knowledge in the world of timeshares, and so she went in with an open mind. To no surprise for us, the timeshare company took full advantage of her in this situation.

Ruby has decided to share her story not only with us but also with you in hopes it will shed some light on the true nature of the timeshare industry and its deceitful practices. The names of people and places have been changed and/or redacted for privacy reasons.

“I took my parents and kids on a vacation to a resort many years back where I had to sit in on a timeshare presentation. Having my parents and children there, the conversations were directed towards how a timeshare would be an amazing investment and opportunity for both of them. They raved about how it would be perfect for my parents once they were retired and also how we could pass it down to our children later in life at no extra cost. I got caught up in everything they were trying to sell me on.”

Timeshare salespeople will do everything they can to distort your thinking, and that is exactly what they did to Ruby. Throughout the whole presentation, she only thought about the benefits this could bring to her family members and that is what was used against her.

“I personally never used the timeshare but had it set up for my parents to use. They took a few trips but always had issues with availability at the places they wanted to go and had to settle for less exciting locations. Once they could no longer travel, the increasing fees became very unpleasant to deal with. The timeshare was now of no use for my parents and so expensive that my children wanted nothing to do with it. The financial strain of trying to keep it became unbearable as I already had so many other responsibilities.”

Timeshare maintenance fees typically increase every year. That cannot be stressed enough and do not believe any salesperson that tells you otherwise. So often, these fees are the deal breakers for those in a financial struggle and that’s because they never see them coming in advance and are unable to properly prepare for them.

“No one in my family wanted to deal with the financial burden of the timeshare. We weren’t able to use it when or where we wanted to and it was becoming just a waste of money. The fees continued to increase each year and became twice as expensive as any other vacation service whether we used the timeshare or not. I just couldn’t believe that I trusted the salespeople when they told me a timeshare was an investment. ”

After losing trust in her timeshare company, Ruby began researching ways to get out of her agreement with them. She knew she had been wrongfully deceived by them and that’s where we came into the picture. After hearing her story, we knew we could help her and before too long she was officially timeshare free. With the help of Wesley Financial Group, LLC, she was able to see her timeshare agreement terminated along with the stress and burdens that came with it.*
