Salespeople Pulled Out All The Stops In Their Pitch To Francis & Benjamin A.

When Francis and Benjamin agreed to attend a timeshare sales presentation, they were not exactly sure what to expect. But it came with a free, three-night stay at the resort so they found it hard to pass up on the opportunity. Things turned south for the couple when they began to feel trapped in the room with the salespeople.

Timeshare sales presentations have gained notoriety for being an unpleasant experience for potential clients and the feelings were no different for this couple. Below is a written account from them on their initial encounter with timeshare salespeople and how it affected their future in such a negative way. Names of people and companies have been changed or redacted due to privacy concerns.

“It started with a random phone call we received, offering us a free weekend stay at a resort if we agreed to attend a short presentation. Our jobs at the time prevented us from taking much vacation time so the offer was tempting enough for us to accept. Once we arrived, we felt swarmed by sales representatives, and the overall environment there was very hectic with many moving parts.”

The first two lies you hear about timeshare presentations are that they will only take a short amount of time and the fact that they are even called presentations, because they’re treated instead like sales pitches from the get-go.

“There were so many different sales representatives coming to us and talking about god knows what. One of them showed us a video of all the different resort locations they offer, there were many different countries shown. Then someone else would come by right after that and tell us about all the financial advantages of a timeshare. Every so often another person would come by saying how great of an offer we were getting. They were trying everything.”

These salespeople are persistent, that's for sure. Being persistent is not necessarily wrong, but when it comes to being used to unfairly serve your clients then it is taken too far. The line of misrepresentation is flirted with constantly by timeshare sales representatives and time and time again, innocent people are left paying the price for it.

“Everything they told us about, they were not completely honest about. They mentioned the maintenance fees but never acknowledged that they increased the price every single year. And they bragged about the ability we would have to pass the timeshare on to our children when we passed, but now we know that would result in a financial disaster for them. The whole sales presentation was spent hyping up the value of this timeshare and how the value was going up every year for it, but that was an obvious lie.”

Francis and Benjamin never experienced the financial benefits they were pitched on that initial presentation. Instead, they saw the opposite. Their timeshare was becoming such a burden for them financially that it was affecting their livelihood.

“That timeshare purchase was nothing but a financial burden for us. Due to the excessive payments it required from us every year, it prevented us from being able to retire when we would have liked. At one point we thought we would never escape this trap, but then we talked to Wesley Financial Group, LLC and they assured us there was a way out.”

We were happy to work with this couple and wanted just as bad to get them out of this terrible agreement they were stuck in. After just over a year of working together, we were able to fully terminate Francis and Benjamin’s timeshare agreement!* They never plan to attend a timeshare sales presentation again.

If you know someone who’s in timeshare distress and could use our assistance, pass along our phone number below. We would be more than happy to see if they qualify for our timeshare termination services.
