After many years as a telecommunications manager, Cris was happy to be retired. That is until she was met with the burden of a timeshare agreement. Below is a word for word account of the timeshare ordeal that Cris experienced. “The salespeople were good at their job during the presentation and exaggerated the benefits that I would have if I signed up. Like the ability to vacation when I wanted. But this was never true and very frustrating. The ability to vacation when I wanted was difficult. I was making payments much higher than I was told during my meeting. I was also required to go to a presentation on each vacation visit which would take away anywhere from 3-5 hours of my time.”
Cris felt like she had taken a major step backwards in her life. She was retired and supposed to be enjoying life. Instead, her timeshare was taking all of her money and making her reconsider going back into the workforce.
“The maintenance charges were never the amount quoted when I signed up for the timeshare. This made things difficult for me as a retiree.”
